A Year in Construction
Building a custom home happens in steady, deliberate phases. Each month builds on the last as the home takes shape through excavation, framing, inspections, and finish work. This timeline walks through a full year of construction, highlighting the key milestones at every stage.

August 2023: Breaking Ground
Site prep began with excavation, footing trenches, and rebar placement. By the end of the month, the footprint of the home was established.
September 2023: Foundation Work
Concrete footings were poured, inspected, and stripped. Wall forms were set, reinforced, and poured. Crews waterproofed below grade and installed drains and underground utilities. The foundation was ready for framing.
October 2023: Underground Work
Utilities and plumbing were completed and inspected, then backfilled. The basement slab was poured and cured. Lumber was delivered, setting the stage for framing.
November 2023: Framing Starts
Framing began at the basement level and moved upward. Stud walls, beams, and floor systems went in as the structure took shape.
December 2023: Framing Continues
Framing progressed through the second floor. The structure was ready for roof framing and enclosure.
January 2024: Roof and Rough-Ins
Roof trusses and sheathing went up, and underlayment was installed. Windows and doors were staged. Plumbing and mechanical rough-ins began.
February 2024: Weather-Tight
Marvin windows and exterior doors were installed. Plumbing, HVAC, and electrical rough-ins continued with each trade moving through the house in sequence.
March 2024: Electrical and Inspections
Electrical rough-ins wrapped, followed by owner walk-through for outlet and lighting confirmation. Framing adjustments and insulation prep were completed ahead of cover inspections.
April 2024: Drywall
After insulation and air-barrier inspections, drywall was stocked, hung, and taped. Interiors began to take form.
May 2024: Paint Prep
Painters primed walls and applied ceiling coats. Construction transitioned to an early finish phase.
June 2024: Performance Work
AeroBarrier was applied for air-sealing. Paint touch-ups were completed, and the home was readied for flooring and millwork.
July 2024: Interior and Exterior Finishes Begin
Cabinets, tile, flooring, siding, and exterior trim were installed. Interior hardwood and tile work progressed steadily.
August 2024: Site and Interior Progress
Countertops were templated and installed. Deck framing and concrete flatwork advanced. Landscaping prep began.
September 2024: Final Trades
Painters completed finish coats. Fixtures, hardware, and final plumbing, HVAC, and electrical trim-outs were installed. Quality checks continued throughout.
October 2024: Closeout
Appliances, mirrors, and railings were installed. The home received a full clean and final inspection. Landscaping wrapped up, and the project was completed.
